e500 upgrade processed outside of 1P window

Just checked "My Itineraries" and found that one of my upcoming segments (requested e500 upgrade) has been upgraded while I'm waitlisted on the other. My 72 hour window as a 1P doesn't start for another 12 hours so somehow this upgrade request seems to be mistakenly processed within the 1K window. My status with UA, unfortunately, still reads Premier Executive.

Anyone else ever experience this? One thought is that I have already confirmed (via a sponsored CR-1) upgrades on my outbound flights two days from now - I wonder if UA is treating me like a 1K in this case as a result. Thoughts?

Yes, I've had it happen on very rare occasions.

My e500 requests usually process at the 106 hour mark. No rhyme, no reason. Same flights every week. UA clocks working on GMT +/- 0 time?

Is Y fairly full? Inventory management could be pushing them through early to sell more tix in Y.

It has happened to me a few times. Although not as 1P, but as 1K my e-500s have cleared 7 days ahead. The flight loads were fairly low, so I am not sure if they were oversell issues.

I've had it happen on elite-low routes where my upgrades always clear into empty F cabins

I've had e500s clear 3-5 hours early several times, but never as many as 12. Never thought to question it beyond imprecision in the system associated with batch processing of requests.
