Warm Nut Ploy

This wasn't intentional, but on my SFO-FRA flight last week, after the first round of warm nuts I had eaten the cashews and macadamias first as I always do since I like leaving the heavier flavored almonds for last so the they don't overwhelm the taste of the lighter nuts.

Then the FA came around for the second round, before I had started on the almonds - she spooned another round of nuts into the cup, then said, seeing only almonds left in my cup, "I'll give you more macadamias since you don't like almonds" and proceeded to cherry pick another spoonful of lighter nuts into my cup. I'll have to remember to try this in the future!

Sounds like you had an attentive FA (for once). I swear I'm growing more jaded with age. How was the service the rest of the flight?

Amazingly, in both directions (SFO-FRA and FRA-SFO) the glasses were always topped off, even midway through the flights, and FAs friendly and attentive!

Could they possibly do another snack, please? AA does marinated cheese as well as nuts. The nuts are SOOOOOOOOOO boring.

I really have to slow down when I read. Whenever someone types that FAs were attentive, I always read it as attractive.

Or perhaps an amuse-bouche like on LH.

The nuts don't bore me at all so long as they are warm/hot. I find that the saltiness nicely offsets the sweetness of the jack and coke which is undoubtedly sitting right next to them.

I must admit that when you take off and you're hungry, those warm nuts are awesome. They totally hit the spot, especially with a nice glass of wine or beer. Just perfect!

I love hot nuts! And there's usually enough for seconds or even more.

I hate United's "snack" that is the fruit and cheese plate. The fruit is okay but I hate the cheese. I try to get a special meal as a replacement except when they refuse to take orders for special meals on redeye flights. There I just wish I had hot nuts.
