UA award miles vs mile flown on *b
I am currently NW Gold running out of ORD, and considering trying to get 2P or 1P on UA since it is my home town airline while the air fares are still fairly low.
I trying various booking on *b and am confused by information when mousing over the "Flight Info" section.
On some flights it mentions:
UA operated
XXX miles traveled
XXX Award miles
or some just
code share partner operated
XXX miles traveled
Am I correct in my understanding that this means only the UA,TED and UX metal will earn status towards 2P or 1P?
Thanks Angust

Note the "Mileage Plus airline partners" flights only provide RDMs and not EQMs.
Only UA & UX flights count toward e500s (electronic upgrades). BTW TED is no more but the TED-planes are still flying.

That makes a little more sense. I'm guess that the "Award miles" miles deal on the website is to indicate that the person would earn XXX miles towards the 10k needed for the e500 rewards.

Not exactly. The 10K miles required for e500's must all be flown on UA/UAX metal. You can accumulate status miles on Star Alliance airlines, and you can accumulate redeemable miles on Star Alliance airlines and United partners.
