I think they changed the ORD-PVG to SFO-PVG and SFO-PEK to ORD-PEK after April 1st. They'll be flying a 777 on the ORD-PEK route and a 744 on the SFO-PVG route.

So do they regard these April changes as "new routes" and usually offer specials for a while, or it is business as usual and only e-fares where required?

PVG is Pudong (the new airport outside of Shanghai), and SHA is still the old Hongqiao that is closer to Shanghai but no longer served by UA.

The SFO to PEK will still be there, it will be returning to the old schedule with a stop in Tokyo (NRT). There will then be 2 flight to PEK a day, one direct from ORD and the other SFO to PEK via NRT.
