Entitled to anything for CS errors?
Hello!
I often call MP to ask about my 500 mile upgrade certificates. And my answers, they always vary.
Because I am not a Premier, I am technically not allowed to use them (unless in Business or Full Fare Eco. = NEVER AM ANYWAY).
Sometimes, they say that even though it says "United Economy M, H, Q, V, W, S, K, L, T--- NON PREMIERS: Not Allowed", and my fare is "Q", I can upgrade. When I ask why it says that, they usually say "That just means you cannot upgrade ahead of time, like top-tier members, but you can at the gate"
Sometimes they will say downright no, but if I get a nice gate agent and an empty seat, who knows.
In this particular case, even with F seats open, I was denied the upgrade. However, non-rev's were not denied (typical).
Am I entitled to anything? Should I have taken down the CS ID # who told me I could upgrade, and fought for the upgrade?
I hate the inconsitancy at UACS!!!
Thankyou!

Zach,
It would be kindof hard to fight for things that are clearly written on the upgrade certificate. The 500-mile upgrade certificate clearly stated that you could only upgrade on a full fare coach, as a non-Premier member. You may have gotten one CSR who may have misunderstood your question, but to take that as your ammo...I wouldn't do that if I were you.
Thx
