a lot can depend on your route (int'l or domestic) and your class of service. in general unless you are flying business or first i wouldn't expect priority tags, but you can always ask for them.

You get priority tags only if you are in business or first - upgrades count. In reality I am not sure what good the priority tags do. In the last year I don't think that I have had more than a handful of bags come out in the first batch. In some cases I think that some handlers may actually not put your bags on the belt first if they are priority tagged. Anyone else had the same experience. As a 1K million miler I have spoken a number fo times to the Customer service reps to no avail

Only on transpacs INTO SFO in business have I had my priority tagged bags come out first--every time. Nowhere else, ever.

On my last UA flight, they ran out of *A priority tags.... I was flying F so they used F cabin tags for my luggage....

PremEx and 1K get them automatically in Eco Int'l. Sometimes you have to remind them of *Gold benefits...

I love 'em. It makes me feel important. But it hasn't gotten my bags faster or first!!

On 15 Oct into NRT, my two first-class-tagged bags came off #1 and #2 (WOW! ), followed by other F bags and then some with the red priority tags. Coming back today into SFO from NRT, the first 40 or so bags off all bore the red priority tags.

My experience is that the First Class tags do result in the bags coming off faster. The Priority tags seem to make no difference.

I checked a bag and my golf clubs on a trip to DFW - they came out #1 & #2. I was really impressed. On the return flight to GEG, my bag came out near the end and my golf clubs were the very last item off.

Nearly all my flight segments are It'l. The new bold orange * priority tags do seem to work for me at least. Came back today on Air NZ with 3 bags. All in the first dozen off!

I have found that they do make an impact on international flights and a FEW domestic flights. Unfortunately, on shuttle flights, I think that the baggage handlers put tagged bags last

I had the orange priority tags on two bags coming back from Sydney today (to SFO). The bags beat me to the baggage claim/customs area, something that I have never had happen before on any international flight. Zipped right through customs and headed home.
