Challenge Question

I was granted a 1P Challenge on August 19th (email arrived at 5:22 CST). It said I have 90 days to fly 15k miles. Which, based on my math means I have to do it by the 17th of November. I am flying CLT-ORD on the 16th of November. Will United still grant me 1P (will be 120 miles short before the 16th) even if the miles don't post until the 18th?

Talk about cutting it close.

Thanks

I believe the important thing is the date of activity, not the date of posting. So you should be ok... I think.

I second that. I am working on the challange to 1P as well, but mine started on Oct 16 or Oct 17. The letter I got said I have to complete travel by 12/31/2008, not have the miles posted to my account.

If you have 15K+ for BIS before the deadline, you should be OK. Sounds like you're only 120 miles away! Good luck!

How do you get challenges? From status matching?

Then no, UA won't let you participate in a challenge. Challenges are only meant for GMs.

So you can do a 1P challenge as a GM? 15K miles? How about segments? Is there a fee?

(sorry about all the questions)

No, because that would not make sense. If you already are a member, you have to get status the hard way. Challenges are meant to facilitate elite members of other alliances or programs.

Thanks for the tips everyone, can someone quickly check my math, that the 16th is within 90 days from my start in August. I am paranoid now.

Thanks again.

I did the challenge on segments, 18 in 90 days. It worked.

To the OP my only concern since your cutting the date so close is if you have a delay for some reason and don't travel till the day after your challenge ends then you don't qualify.
