Philly Flying

Does anyone have any suggestions on flying out of Philadelphia in terms of cheap connecting cities? I need to get to the midwest--STL or MCI and it just kills me to look to pay more to go there than to the West Coast. Thanks.

Wow! You weren't kidding about heart-stopping fares.

I've had good luck with Northwest out of Philly to other destinations, but in general, it looks like Northwest and American are the only ones with fares in the $300-$400 range, and then only on morning flights both ways. Everything else seems to be over $700, even with a Saturday night stay.

If you live south of the airport it might be worth the drive to BWI. I've flown to STL for around $300 via ORD on UA.
