2 *A programs on a United flight?

Hi

To preface, sorry if this has been answered before -- I looked at the FAQ and did a quick search, but nothing came up.

I have a number of flights on UA this fall. I am *A Gold (AC) and have met my mileage to re-qualify for 2008-9. Because of this, I want to have my remaining UA flights for 2008 to accrue on my BMI account. It is my understanding that with UA, I can have two accounts associated with my tickets. One account to show my *A status (to give me a "Zone 1" BP), and another to have points credited to BMI.

How do I tell UA to do this? Should I call them before hand, or have the agent at check-in handle this? Can I set this up online?

Thanks in advance!

-Brian

Call them and tell them to put your Aeroplan number in FQTS and your DC number in FQTV. You should find an agent who can handle this if you use those terms.

As long as you flash the *G card, does it matter whether it says Zone 1 on the BP or not?? Just curious.

In my experience, most gate agents only look at the number on the BP, and most likely don't care if you flash a card at them.

This is usually the case for me, too. However, if I want another FFP number (no status) to show up on BP, then the Zone 1 associated with a status FFP can't be on the BP, can it?

Your Zone derives from FQTS, and your mileage credit goes to FQTV. It doesn't really matter which one gets printed on the BP, as long as they go into the correct fields.

Does this also work with UA in FQTS and BD in FQTV so I can keep Economy Plus seating while earning Diamond Club points?

Interesting. I just got off the phone from United. Had them put my AC in the FQTS and BD in the FQTV. They said my status would not show up. *shrugs*

I will see when I get to the airport to check in. The UA agents at YYZ are pretty good, so I will just confirm it all there...

Didn't know this! That's why FT is so great.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong here, but after calling and having my FQTV switched to BD and leaving my UA in FQTS, United kicked me out of E+.

I called reservations to see what was going on, and the agent (who seemed to know what she was talking about and even put me on hold for a time to confirm) reported that each account was in the proper field, but she said that I could not retain E+ unless both numbers were UA accounts. The only way to get back into E+ was to replace my BD number with my UA number.

Odd, given the many reports here that this seems to work.

The reports say that the *G access works. You'll get that (which gives you seating area 1), while crediting to your other non *G ff program. Only UA elites get E+ access. *G on other airlines do not get E+ access. It sounds like it's working.

E+ access is only available to UA elites, not to other *G. @:-)
