Yes. You, as a 1K are allowed to bring up to 2, oh, wait, I think it's eight now, guests with you into E+.

you don't need to have the itineraries linked, just keep an eye on the seats once assigned. You do need to call to get the assignment done though

*G access to E+
Hi,
I recently moved to the US and will be flying United more. I have a newbie question for you:
Contrary to my handle I am *G (LH SEN) When booking a ticket with united, how do I get access to E+ seating? My wife is *S - can she sit in E+ with me? And how do I get access to the seat inventory. On the website I can only book Economy or Business but not E+?
Thanks a lot
FeM

It kind of makes sense if you think about it. E+ is not a *G benefit and it's not like any of the other *A carriers off it to anyone.

The 1K ability of more than one into E+, is not that limited to travellers on the same PNR??

Global Services and 1K customers may have up to eight family members (nine including the Global Services and 1K member) in Economy Plus when traveling together on the same itinerary (same confirmation number). The offer of Economy Plus seating is subject to availability.
So the benefit is limited to family on the same record locater as the 1K. As such, it is a nearly useless benefit. I doubt I'm different from most 1Ks: when I travel with my family, I use miles for them, and cash for me so that I earn EQMs. When done that way there are two record locaters.

In any case, if both you and your spouse are 1Ks, what good is "the 8 family members on the same PNR can be in E+ benefit" to either of you? Indeed, if most 1Ks had 1Ks , or even [12]Ps for spouses, what would the point of the benefit be?
I think you've lost the point.

yes he can get E+ seating. and i'm sure the PNR's can be split since my husband and i just split our childrens tickets from ours and we used CR-1's and the children sat in E+ and we applied 500 mile upgrade certs to the outbound segment of their flights
