Changes at the IAD RCC??

Am at the IAD RCC at C5 waiting for my flight. When checking in, I was asked if I would like anything from the bar. The person next to me was asked the same thing. Haven't heard that ask this year. Also, the crakers and cheese had disappeared in previous months, now they are back. UA making an effort to improve the atmosphere? Anyone recently in the RCC at C17 or D7?

If you are leaving on an international (transoceanic) flight they are supposed to provide you with 2 drink chits.. this has always been a benefit (but there are common reports of the agents "forgetting" to offer them at RCC checkin).

No... just make you not think about other things in the club. http://flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=855673

I would hope that UA would upgrade the IAD RCCs. They are doing that to JFK, LAX and SFO.

Everytime I am at the clubs in IAD they are always packed and it would be nice to see an upgrade to them.

They added the Westin rooms (OK, but not that special, especially at LAX). What else are they doing?

Is this only when departing on an intl flight, or do you also get the chits on returning from an intl flight? (I requested the chits at IAD last week on my way back from FRA and got them. The agent seemed surprised, but he also didn't seem to know that as a 1P I had access to the lounge in the first place, so after he got corrected by a colleague for that, he didn't question me on the chits....)

Don't forget the roaches - (to accompany the rats, another great enhancement)

Yeah, I haven't seen the mice in a while. Now it's just the birds flying through the terminals. I wonder if they'll make it into the RCC eventually.

I heard that they offered the mice early retirement buyouts. The mice are considering.

YMMV. I was at ORD on my way home a few months back as a 1P (C ticket LYS-MUC-ORD-LAX) and got chits in ORD on my way home. Actually, I got drink chits out the wazoo on that trip, maybe I was just lucky. As usual, there's a lot of inconsistency in the RCC's.

I was shocked, shocked I tell you when I entered the C5 RCC last night on my way to EZE, and was given TWO chits. This was the second time EVER of being asked. And I transit IAD at least every two months ...

With all due respect to the mice and cockroaches, what I also noticed besides the cheese and crackers coming back was that the staff seemed much more attentive and on the ball, cleaning up after people who had left, replenishing the limited food items, etc., and all in all, a much nicer environment than what I have observed during the last 6 months there. Maybe more activity by the staff will keep the mice and cockroaches away.
