Lounge Access at BOS
Hi all,
I will be travelling UA823 BOS-IAD connecting to UA920 IAD-LHR in June. I will be in F for 823 (technically J) and J for 920. Will I get access to the RCC at BOS?
Also, anyone can confirm that 920 has the new J seats?
Thanks.

IIRC you should have RCC access all day.
and virtually no chance at the new seats

Yes, you can use the RCC at BOS by showing your international boarding pass, and you can also use the RCC at IAD (not the international first lounge). You are entitled to 2 drink chits at IAD on your way overseas good for alcohol in the lounge (no drink chits at BOS).

A little bit off topic but can you use drink chits from the RCC also on board in Y? UA charges $5 for alcoholic beverages in Y on TATL flights.

Since the new C has less seats it has become the default map for some routes. (its easier to process more upgrades on the day of travel then it is to downgrade them).

Possible, but again... very unlikely as there are only 2 763's with the new config, and both of those have been used mainly for routes to FRA.

I rebooked my flights solely for the purpose of scoring the new seats...
Are there any 763s/777s/744s refitted already?

My concern would be if you are in paid for u/g C... if u/g then go with the 772 as more C seats so numbers would be in your favor.

as of now i think the 747 has been doing runs from the coasts to fra (i think sfo), but i know it is always subject to change.
nevertheless, economy on the 747 does not have personal tvs, you have one main screen, so some people find that a good reason to upgrade.
