I am confirmed in business on 952 IAD-FRA on Jan 25. United's website shows the new configuration for this flight but the sister flight #953 FRA-IAD the following morning shows the old 767 configuration. How is this possible? Does anyone know if the new plane is going to FRA on the 25th?

As of now, the new aircraft is scheduled to operate flights 953/FRA-IAD and 937/IAD-SFO on the 25th. And then flights 914/SFO-IAD and 952/IAD-FRA on the 26th. So it sounds like you're not going to get it this time around...

Of course, the schedule is always subject to change.

I am flying flight 952 in a couple of weeks and hope it is the new configuration. Seatmap is currently (not showing row 5)all blocked. On my way back, I am flying from AMS, and the seatmap on that flight is open showing row 5.

I purposely flew 953 in December, but unfortunately it was the old configuration that day.

It looks like I will finally experience the new Business Seat this Sunday on flight 952. (knock on wood).

The seat map showing new configuration has been blocked for days, but this morning it opened up and still showed new configuration. I promptly selected 6H. I will have my camera ready to take photos on the flight.

Isn't 917 an IAD-SEA flight?
Do you mean 914 for SFO-IAD?

Visit to Chicago?

From looking at ACARS, it looks like N647UA went to Chicago, and came back to IAD as 722 on Thursday:

I can't quite figure it out, but it might have gone out as 395.

i also heard that it will be stopping in ORD either the end of next week or presidents day. i don't think it'll be doing commercial flights there, but for the employees to check out the new product.

Uh, nope... N647UA has spent the last three days flying back and forth between IAD and FRA.

FWIW, talked to the station mgr at ZRH last week, who said, the new B/C plane made it once to ZRH sofar. He expects to see it on a regular basis once the 2nd 763 is converted. He mentioned March, IIRC.

However, I was under the impression UA would first complete one of each of the 763, 744 & 777 before moving on, e.g. converting the second 763?

The second 767 will be done before the first 747 or 777.

Someone mentioned that it's the 767 that used to be painted in the Star Alliance livery - so that should make it easy to find the tail #.
