Wrong line in CDG?
This is probably as much to do with language as status but I've been wondering about this for a while. Mrs. Dace and I were returning from Paris last year. We got to CDG early; the check in lines were not open yet and a number of people were queued in the Economy line with no one in the First/Business/UGS lines. Looking somewhat lost I asked which line and the concierge(?) asked what class and I answered that I was "United Premier" (a humble 1P as it were.) He told me to get in the line for UGS so I did. Not a bad line to be in but I have since been wondering if he thought I meant First Class ("First" in english = "Premier" in french.) At the time this may have been an unintentional faux pas. My question is whether or not I should have been in the line he pointed me to or if I should have tried to clarify "United Premier" vs "Premier Classe". (Or is my french worse than I thought?) At the time I didn't question it but in retrospect I hate it when people cut in line and if this was the wrong line I'll make sure I get in the right line next time.

Actually, at CDG you weren't far off, there are 3 lines, the economy/no status line, the business/star silver line and the first/star gold line. So you were actually in the correct line I believe unless they've added more lines since I was there in December.

Based on this, shouldn't the OP have been in the *S line? The middle one, he's posted he said just Premier, not 'executive' or *G

well OP's post is confusing. says both 1p and premier. which is it?
1P=premier exec=he was in the correct line
2p=premier=he should have been in the *silver line
1P=premier exec=he was in the correct line
2p=premier=he should have been in the *silver line

Whew, I feel better now.
Thanks for the replies. I feel better now. (My status is 1P - Premier Executive.)
