Easy Update
Are others getting Easy Updates through their cell phones? The reason I ask is that I have taken about 16 flights in the last month and have not received any calls. I went into my East Update account and the last notification was in February.
I find this service very useful, especially when I am running late to the airport. It would be great if it worked all the time.

I've been receiving easy update text messages to my cell phone and automated phone calls for delays, departure information, and upgrades. My most recent trip was yesterday and several messages arrived, thanks to delays on the ORD-EWR flights.

Sadly to say, for me it works very sporadically if at all. One example would be this past week I was stuck in BNA on 3/21 and I only received a notification 3 hours after my flight was canceled.

Yah it sure is useful when it works! Are you sure all your easy update settings are correct? I have gone a few flights without an update, but not 16!

Received the 3 hour in advance on-time message of my flight to RDU today. Get to the airport, now delayed 30 minutes. At the scheduled departure time, I got a message telling me that I'd be arriving on time, but hadn't left yet. Then the flight was delayed 30 more minutes.
I've recently discovered flightstats.com, and I've found that it's alerting service seems to work quite well. At least for the times I've tested it.

Interesting, I just noticed it also this week in an East Coast swing. When I checked, it looks like the last routine one I had received was on the domestic portion of a international return on March 15. None of the ones earlier this week showed up. I thought perhaps my cell provider had changed something, but test messages (both directly and thru United) showed up. Tried to reregister, and wound up with 2 notices, so deleted one, and then this morning on the return from JFK both the upgrade notice and the flight notice turned up, although not much ahead of time.
