Unless you are travelling specifically to Boston, I think you are nuts to fly into the BOS airport. Providence, Manchester and Hartford are all significantly better experiences. I used to live in Worcester, MA--about 35 minutes to BOS, about 45 to Providence and about 65 to MHT. I think I flew out of BOS one time in the 4 years I lived there. Flew out of
I live equidistant from BOS and MHT (~35 minutes from each, except at BOS rush hour).

I do believe you exaggerate. Last I looked, there were 2 pax in the
F line and at least 20 in the "lice" line. There may be times when these
numbers may equalize somewhat, but it's unlikely that the number in
the F line will exceed the other. Reasons: Elite pax are less frightened
of Mr. Chicken; plus they have elite telephone numbers, which when
used properly can do wonders. Now on a day of major irregular ops,
such as 2/14, the elite line may have gotten a bit long, mostly because
the GMs were probably told, stay home, don't bother even to try. Even
so, I doubt that the phenomenon you describe would have happened.
I didn't have the opportunity to see for myself the other day, as I was
at US, where I was fourth in the F/Preferred/*G line, with the GM lines
(3 of them) totalling well over a hundred.
