ID needed when using kiosk
Hello FT. Can a M+ card be used at a check-in kiosk for ID purposes?
I thought I saw it on the list when first starting the process, but I tried my card at a couple of different airports, and the kiosk doesn't appear to read it, so I end up using a credit card.
Do I have a bad M+ card?
Thanks!

possible your card "lost" the info (run across a magnet, too hot, etc). FWIW, you could have just entered your MP#

The mag strip on the back of cards is segregated into "tracks". The standard convention is to place the cardholders' name in Track One. So, all the kiosk reader is doing is reading the information on Track One and matching it against the reservations database. As long as the card you swipe has the information the kiosk is programmed to look for in the same track, it should work.

You can also just type in your MP number.

Your state drivers license will work as well if it has a magnetic stripe like California and Arizona does.

Thanks for some alternative ideas. Other cards I have do work. Just curious if anyone has actually tried or been successful in using their M+ card.

If your card isn't working at all, its possible that the mag stripe has been erased or corrupted.

I stopped swiping my cards some time ago... it seemed like only my AMEX would work consistently and my card with one of those new holographic mag strips doesn't work at all. I just put in my MP#; that seems a lot quicker than fumbling with cards.

many times. usually, that's the first card I use, and I can't remember an occasion that it doesn't work. i think you might have a bad card.

Thanks for confirming that a M+ card is supposed to work. I may want to get my card replaced...
