Billing Error
I purchased a flight from United.ca in Canadian Dollars for approximately $530 CDN and change, and paid via credit card.
I checked my on-line credit card statement, and noticed I was billed by United for $564 CDN and change.
I double checked with my credit card, and they confirm the charge of $564 went through. I called United, and spoke to reservations and confirmed that I should have only been charged the $530. They suggested I called United Refunds at 1-888-551-6881.
However, I have been trying for the better part of the last two days, and their phone number is busy. The times I can actually get through, they are either on lunch or closed.
I noticed they have an on-line option to request refunds, but I do not want to use the on-line form, as I do not want to risk them canceling my flight altogether and issuing a refund for the full amount.
Any suggestions on how to deal with this? Or should I simply wait until I get my credit card statement and dispute the charge.
Thanks.

You could try emailing Customer Service. Perhaps they can follow up for you. Or call and speak to a Service Director and have them sort it out? Seems to me that if the fare was stored in Apollo at CAD/530, but you were charged CAD/564, they should be able to send it Refunds for you.

Just dispute the charge with your credit card company. You'll get faster results with far less frustration.

After calling United Refunds several more times (never able to get through always busy), and sending an e-mail to United about the problem, and not receiving any sort of response, I gave up and just disputed the charge on my credit card, and sent in a printout showing my reservation, highlighting the amount in CDN dollars that was supposed to be charged.
Received a credit from my Credit Card company today.
Guess I should always double check when booking on United.ca that the correct amount is charged to my credit card!

Hi OfficeGlenn,
You are not the only Canadian having billing problem with united.ca web site. I have two friends in Canada facing the same currency billing error. Until UAL resolve the issue, you might have to buy UA flight ticket at Expedia.ca or Travelocity.ca. It is cheaper to pay CDN$5 to Travelocity than $20+ to credit card company.
