Major-Delay Database
Just a thought after reading about a flight to PEK that was delayed by almost a day.
It might be cool to have a database of those "major" delays (the 24-hour and up kind, I'm thinking) including the type of aircraft, tail number, type of mechanical problem and how it was resolved. It seems like the 744 fleet is plagued by these delays (763s and 777s, too, but maybe they are less distruptive) more often lately, and stretched-thin resources are only making the problem worse.
Could someone from UA851 on 7/28/06 post this information?
If this idea sounds dumb, please don't flame me
