Priority waitlist compared to waitlisted.
What’s the advantage of being on the priority waitlist when compared to just waitlisted? Thanks.

There are two waitlists - the "priority" waitlist (PA), and the "standard" waitlist (PB). PB is not touched util PA is empty. When you are waitlisted, you really don't know which list you're on unless you specifically ask (and there's no way to find out online).
In general, a SWU or CR-1 will put you on PA, while a mileage upgrade will put you on PB (though some 1Ks report they end up on PA).

I thought you could now see in My Itineraries which wait list you're on... a new field started displaying earlier this year. Is it gone now? I don't currently have any waitlisted itineraries of my own to check...

1K's are always on the Priority Waitlist (PA list)

i sponsored goalie-sis (2p) on-line with miles and i called today to check as to her w/l status and was told she's on the priority wait list. of course being the good f/t'er, i inquired as to whether it as pa or pb and was told "pa" and i was surprised as i thought 2p's did not get pa w/listed. perhaps where i'm a 1k, the w/l is also based on the sponsor's status (or is it the fact that it's a milage upgrade)

My Itin simply shows waitlisted. I have never seen anything other than that when I have been waitlisted in the past.

Seriously, I thought 2P's were on PA.
