Is this revenue? Or award? Are you looking for an open jaw, or you want LAX-NYC in the itinerary?

I don't see any reason why you couldn't do SIN-LAX-NYC-SIN or SIN-NYC-LAX-SIN with a stopover in either LAX or NYC (you can only have one stopover on an award). It seems like a logical and valid routing to me.

If an award, then make NYC the destination and LAX the stopover. You should be able to ticket SIN-LAX-NYC-SIN, assuming availability.

I think the question is this-- Should be no problem at all provided you use EWR-SIN on SQ 21 on the way back, which is coded as a transpacific flight, or a connection in NRT using UA or NH or some combination.
If you go SIN-LAX across the Pacific (SQ 12/SQ30/SQ20), you cannot use SQ 25 JFK-FRA-SIN to come back.
You can also go across the Atlantic both ways using NYC as a stopover to get to LAX. For example SQ 26 SIN-FRA-JFK, connect to UA JFK-LAX, and back LAX-FRA on LH, FRA-SIN on SQ. Perfectly valid, though it would take 105K miles.

No problem if you want to do SIN-LAX/NYC-SIN. Of course, you could add a UA sector to the booking LAX-NYC if you wanted.
