It might be worthwhile to call and ask if there's a way to get fast-tracked back to status, especially since your husband, who apparently flies less, ended up 3P.

Hmm. Any landing you can walk away from is a good one? Maybe, but obviously some are "softer" than others. 2P to 3P is kinda bumpy, but you live through it and have hope. 1P to zilch? Guess it depends upon your definition of surviving. However, it's possible that a GM on UA might be preferable to what some over at NW are going through right now.
