EQM Miles for Flying on America West/US Airways?

I have an upcoming trip to Vegas on America West/US Airways. I am a 1P. Will I still get United Mileage Plus EQM's and the bonus for flying on them?

If not, does anyone know when this will happen with the new US Airways?

Not as of yet. In another very recent thread on the topic someone mentioned mid 2006 as a possible date for when MP memebers will earn EQMs on HP flights. I do not know where that info came from though.

Try a search and you'll come across numerous threads with the same question possibly providing more elaborate answers.

Short answer: No miles on HP flight #'s or HP metal. US Flight # and Metal does still get UA EQM/EQS

Flame Answer: This has been asked 1000x. Please learn to use the search feature

What really pis*** me off is the no folks on flyertalk.com

My anwser is where there is a will there is a way!

First of all: as of Jan 4, 2006 America West does not exist at all!
Were are using the brand US Airways, therefore all 3 examples are US Airways

Philadelphia to Charlotte is US Airways
Las Vegas to Seattle is US Airways
Phoenix to Las Vegas is (again) US Airways!

Next I would ask you to be more specific! Where exactly was this ticketed?

www.usairways.com or www.americawest.com
or maybe www.united.com

or maybe an outside source

Next, I do not need a date, but what is the flight number or the range is it in the 4000's or what? This helps! Lastly, I will tell you where to check/in!

You will get your miles and Eqm's + segments+ bonuses.

I am a YES person, unlike the rude people who replied to your post on earnings miles on US(past HP)

Hold the phone though.

As of this very moment in time the official word from HP/US is that you will NOT earn ANY MileagePlus miles on any flight operated by HP. Even though it may be a US flight number (or codeshare).

That is the bottom line.
http://www.usairwaysinfo.com/usair/c...er/faqs.aspx#4

Rumors have emerged saying that in March 2006, HP/US will get its act together and at that time, MileagePlus miles can be earned on flights operated by HP.

So, as kinglobjaw has indicated you need to look at your flight numbers for your trip to Vegas.

If you have HP flight numbers, you will NOT earn MileagePlus miles.

If you have US flight numbers, you need to call US (or check the US timetables) to see if the flights are operated by HP. If they are operated by HP, you will NOT earn MileagePlus miles. However, if those flights are operated by US or US Airways Express, you WILL earn MileagePlus miles.

Its not rude. They are just telling the OP the facts. You can dream all you want - but at this point its the metal that matters as far as getting UA miles.

I had a recent flight that throws an interesting twist to the situation - I booked a flight on ual.com, got a United PNR, flights operated by USAir. The flight was GSO-CLT-JAX on Dec 9, and the GSO-CLT was on America West Express metal (CR9 I think). CLT-JAX on a USAir 737. End result: EQMs posted for both segments.

Just throwing in my experience...

I may be mistaken, but I think the easiest way to figure this out is to know what hubs you're dealing with.

PHX / LAX - ex America West - generally no miles
PHL / PIT / DCA / CLT / LGA - ex USAirways - generally miles
PHX/LAX to PHL/PIT/CLT - you're on your own, kiddo!

As they integrate it will be tougher and tougher to go by this rule, but it's worked for me so far!
