Melt-down @ ORD! computers are all down...

this blows. all UA computers are down, at the gates, at the check in...everywhere. even united.com wont give flight status on flights.

and on top of that my flight into LGA has been cancelled!

all of this at the 5pm rush....

There is another more general (NOT ORD SPECIFIC) thread already started. The Apollo system is down at ORD, SEA,...everywhere.

Just got off the 906 from SFO...and as I was walking out of the airport to meet my ride, I overheard an announcement about hand-written boarding passes...

Was very glad I was on my way home.

This has nothing to do with IT. It has to do with the system that runs many of United's booking and operational programs - Apollo - is down. It's a Galileo issue. It should be affecting online travel agencies like Cheaptickets.com and all other carriers worldwide that use Apollo. I think Martinair of Holland is one of them.

Just got home....and it was indeed a mess. I guess there was a lot ot stand by passengers due some problems yesterday so that made things even worse. I was on standby for an IND flight due to a mis-connect earlier and they just announced for all standby pax to come to the gate and they just started marking on a piece of paper how many people got on.

Have you ever read any of Mr. Pillows posts? Who said that they have to pertain to the subject matter? The thread subject is merely a recommendation.
