Smile E+ Access and Premier Fast Track...

I can't express how glad I am I found this forum, I've been lurking for a few days and finally decided to post. The wealth of information and super savvy and smart travelers here is amazing. Thanks ahead of time to all of you for the information and help...

I searched around for threads on this and came up empty handed...

Anyways, I'm slowly creeping my way to Premier, (yeah I know, I'm a total newbie)...

I've continually been tempted by the E+ Access membership, for $299... but I'm leaning towards a little extra cash ($750), for the E+ Access w\ Premier Fast Track...

I'm curious if anyone had any thoughts or opinions on it... or if it's just worth 'sucking it up' so to speak, and keep flying until I've got my EQS/Miles fulfilled.

Thanks...

I can't see how much the EPA w/ Fast Track is since the page is now blank (go united.com! ) but the plain old EPA pass is $299, not $399.

If you can purchase the Fast Track and make 2P this year, then it is probably worth it since you will have status through Feb 2007. Also consider the $200 Double EQM offer.

I think it depends on your situation. More info, please.

- How many EQMs do you have/need? Are you remotely close to 25k?
- How big/small is your travel budget?
- How much free time do you have?

If you're somewhat close and you have the time to fly before 12/15/05, the Double EQM promo may work for you.

PS- Welcome to FT!

Thanks for the swift reply... I've only 'finally' decided to focus on UA for mileage, I've been flying a lot of Jetblue and Frontier domestically to NYC which I love and all, but hate that their are no co-shares (except virgin with frontier) or partners with international carriers... so when it comes time to go transatlantic I end up in row 94...

I've got a meager 6 EQS... but have 4 more coming this week...

I figured signing up for the fast track might be the best shot, and doing a little sprint the first week of december for 5 more EQS...

Heh, anyone in DEN area doing that in December?

Thoughts? I'd pay $750 and sprint for 5 more EQS to reach premeire by Dec 15th.. and have it through '07...I don't think I can do both the double offer and the fast track offer at once though, not sure... (by the way, would the double offer double the 6 I have in there now, so all i would have to do is 3 more EQS?)

Thx!

If you sign up for the double EQM/EQS promotion by December 15, then all your UA flights and segments from October 25 through December 15, 2005 will be doubled, even if they were earned before you sign up. So if all 10 of your segments were earned in this period, you'd only need 5 more. Note that only UA (including express and Ted) are doubled. Other *A segments count but will not be doubled.

If this is your situation, you might want to look for a cheap segment run to pick up the last few segments and not pay for the fast track.

Got it... I think that might be the way to go... do i have to fly my remaing segments before Dec 15th? or can they be before dec 31st..

Isn't there a part of the forum for DEN flyertalkers who do segment runs?

I don't see why not, but I would double check the T&C's.

Thanks guys.. I need 7 more segments. (3.5 doubled)

I'm thinking DEN-ORD ORD-IAD IAD-LGA (spent a night in NYC) and come back LGA-NYC..

I'm new to the whole segmant run...I'd be willing to essentially go in a 'circle' around the midwest one day picking up 4 segments... any ideas for cheap stuff starting out of DEN? Thinking Dec 10th or 11th...although I've got from the 8th-14th free...

There are a bunch of ex-DEN fares that have popped up today. (See TravelWriterNYC's thread posted today in MR forum.) Maybe UA will match.

Also, you must read the MR forum stickies. You'll find all the tools you need to find what you're looking for. Good luck.

I'm new here as well and I'm glad to have found this forum!

Premier Fast Track is very tempting for me because I have big trip coming up in a few weeks to HKG and it will definitely get me to Premier. However, I am not sure at this point whether I will be traveling in '06 to enjoy the status.

A side question for the experts:
I was actually a Premier many years ago when I was a kid. I flew over 25,000 miles with UA in '93, didn't do any traveling in '94, but was with UA again in July '95 and I clearly remember having Premier status in '95 because I got a complimentary upgrade to Business Class (or Connoisseur Class at that time) and the Premier bonus miles. So my Premier status went way beyond Feb. '95.

Does anyone know why I was still a Premier in '95 even though I didn't fly over 25,000 miles in '94? This was over 10 years ago, so maybe the rules have changed?

Well.. I got on the telephone with some MP people and think I figured it out..

Unfortunately, It's impossible to combine the double EQS promotion with the fast track to Prem... the fast track to prem counter starts when you enroll, so my past 6 segments don't apply...

I think it's still a pretty good deal, if you want the Prem perks faster, $750 and 15 segments.... and during those segments you can sit in E+ with the rest of the Prems

I think I'll do that, too bad about the double thing not working...

I guess my only question left would be... is all this work (and cash) to Prem worth it?
