Sched changes loading now
Perhaps this is why we couldn't log in before!

you beat me by 2 hours w/your post (but then again, i was busy stopping hockey pucks ;)).
5 changes for me-4 flt #'s only and 1 w/minor time changes |
Mileage Summary and Itineraries are down yet again.

up and running (and fast) at 3am pst

Just checked mine. One flight leaving 5 minutes later, and one leaving 5 minutes earlier. "My Itineraries" says to call to confirm these, but I always wonder if it's worth it for a 5 minute change.

annoying
On a recent flight, my itinerary was slightly changed (5-10 on each flight). Even after calling CS and confirming the changes, on-line or Easy Check-in wouldn't allow me to print boarding passes. Had to check-in at the counter at IAD and LAS - not the friendliest of UA agents.

I had several... One notable change is that UA 916 SEA-IAD (the morning flight) has been upgauged to a 757 from an A320 for my early December trip. I was hoping 917 had been upgauged from the A319 they have it set for now for my return trip...but no dice.

I had 3 changes on 1 itinerary. I called UA to reconfirm as it says to do on when reviewing your itins on ual.com and the agent gave me the new flight number (same depart/arr time for 1 flight) and 5-10 min revised departure/arrival times for the other 2 flights. She then said "Ok, this ticket has already been issued so one moment while I exchange it." It then appears she exchanged my ticket as now when I pull up my E-ticket receipt, in the fare calc section, it says EX016XXXXXXXXX (my old e-ticket number). The bottom of the receipt also shows "Issued Sep 23". Is this a common practice to exchange tickets after schedule changes? I've never had this happen before.

2 out of 6 itineraries have changed, but only minor time shifts. I usually don't bother to call about these, unless there is a seat issue.

Thanks to a schedule change I now have a non-stop to SFO-IAD for my SYD trip in November (there wasn't inventory available and I had to connect via DEN originally - the changes made my cxn illegal). Apparently it was also ticketed in the wrong inventory but the CSR corrected that, as well.
I had three other itineraries that also had minor tweaks to flight #s or times that we had to walk through to "accept" them. Thanks for the heads up ^ Pat - I had one flight change that I had grudgingly accepted when it first appeared, and then again (and again) over the phone but the red never went away from My Itineraries saying the itin had changed. UA ended up calling me directly for that itinerary to ensure I was aware of the adjustment. They still couldn't change it to anything better, but at least the red went away when I accepted it during the phone call. |

Regarding Exchanges, usually UA does not do it for schedule changes. US does it if someone sneezes while looking at your res. I hate that.
And in general, I love Simon. I have totally been using Simon lately to hold reservations when I cannot decide if I want to ticket something or not. And with this latest schedule change, my boyfriend's trip was hit slightly. I called and had Simon find the reservation. I figured he would send me to a reservation agent, but Simon read back the new flights (which I didn't need, but I can live with that) and confirmed it/cleared out all the red flags all on his own. He then offered to send an itin/receipt via email, and even read '@cornell.edu' correctly. Simon can be a little balky sometimes, but compared to the Indian outsourcing, I totally prefer him. BillJ |
