The Great Offer is Back!

Just got an email on the new Great Offer:

Register by July 15th at: http://www.ualgreatoffer.com/

Dear Mr Tods27:

Because you're one of our most valued customers, you can
enjoy these exclusive offers...and keep up to date with news
about United(R). It's our way of saying thank you for your business.

The Great Offers.

- Receive two free personalized luggage tags just for
registering. You'll also receive a special code which you
can use to download the United "Rhapsody in Blue" ringtone to
your cell phone.

- Earn 2,000 Elite Qualifying Miles (EQM)* for each of up to
three of your latest 2004 or 2005 unaltered, separate
frequent flyer statements from competitive airlines you fax
us. That's up to 6,000 EQM in total that count toward your
2006 elite status.

- Earn 2,000 bonus Redeemable Miles that qualify toward
elite status for every paid, qualifying incremental United,
United Express(R) and Ted(SM) segment you fly between April 16
and July 15, 2005 over the 32 segments you flew from
April 16 through July 15, 2004.

Register today at: http://www.ualgreatoffer.com/

Note that the 32 segments is most likely personalized (similar to last year with the threshold).

Not sure that I'll be doing 32+ segments this year in the qualifying period.

SanDiego1K is correct. I tried to register and was denied.

Only for recipients of the offer.

This is the message I got when I clicked "Submit" -

"This promotion is available only to customers who received this offer communication from United Mileage Plus.
Please click on the button below for offers currently available to you. Also, be sure to watch your mailbox and e-mail for future offers."

I tried to register and it gave me a "technical error." When I attempted to re-register, it said "You have already registered for this promotion." Hrmk...

Hmm, I don't need two luggage tags that say, "Look at me, I'm flying on time"...but I would really like to Gershwin when my cell rings...

Too bad, I'm not targeted for this one...

Talking What a Great Offer!

Earn 2,000 bonus Redeemable Miles that qualify toward elite status for every paid, qualifying incremental United, United Express® and Ted(SM) segment you fly between April 16 and July 15, 2005 over the 1 segments you flew from April 16 through July 15, 2004.

So to get this straight...

For every segment I fly over 1, I get:
- 2,000 Bonus miles
AND
- 2,000 EQM's
In addition to the EQM and miles for flying those segments!

Damn that's a great offer. As long as I book in V or above.

I did not get one.

I'm supposing that if I fax in my statements I won't get the EQMs as it says "Offer valid only for receipents of mailing.?" Any possible harm from trying at least?

I didn't get one either... and I also did not get the offer earlier in the year on fly a certain number flights and get EQM or bonus miles either.

I guess, UA looked at my flying history with them, takes me for granted.

Here's the T&A for the bonus EQM portion of the offer:

TERMS AND CONDITIONS: Earn 2,000 Elite Qualifying Miles for each separate competitor's frequent flyer statement with flight activity that is faxed to 1-866-583-5943. Offer valid for a maximum of three statements or 6,000 bonus Elite Qualifying Miles that will count toward your 2005 Elite Qualifying Miles balance for 2006 elite status. Star Alliance® statements are not eligible. Fax must be received by July 15, 2005, in order to qualify for the bonus miles. United is not responsible for lost or misdirected faxes. Elite Qualifying Miles are not redeemable for flights, but do count toward Premier®, Premier Executive® and 1K® status. Elite Qualifying Miles will post 6–8 weeks after fax is received.
--

Notice that each FF statement needs to have flight activity, whereas the 2003 Great Offer did not have this requirement.

Since I fly often fly AS for my coastal trips, I wonder if I can credit one segment to AA, another to NW, and another to AS, and qualify for 6,000 bonus EQMs...

Well I have some AS F flights coming up in July, so if I receive the invitation (again, as I did get it last time) guess I'll be crediting again to AS, AA, and NW.
