"Challenge" program like AA
Does United have a deal like AA does where if you know you're going to fly a lot on United in the coming 3 months, you can apply for challenge status and you only have to earn 5,000 or 10,000 miles to get to elite status.
Does anyone know? And if so, does it work on Star Alliance partner airlines like ANA?

UA does not have a program like AA.
However, you can always buy their prepaid travel card which gives you instant status for $5k/$10/$20k
