Is this "Double Dipping"
Here's the deal, i was ticketed:
BOS-IAD-BOS on UA
the IAD-BOS leg was cancled, due to crew scheduling and i was rebooked on US DCA-BOS
Can I get credit for the ticketed route: BOS-IAD-BOS
plus the DCA-BOS leg???
I called about my online booking bonus, and they took away the DCA-BOS leg, saying it was "Double Dipping"
- i am so close to 2P every mile counts

If UA credits you your original routing of 2 segments BOSIAD and IADBOS then they are not going to also give you a DCA BOS credit. If they gave you DCA BOS then they would take out your IAD BOS segment. It is better for them to credit you with IAD segments though both for the Around The World promo and the 2,500 IAD bonus mile promo. See the UA FAQ thread for links if you are not familiar with the offers yet.
Now what you probably could have done is gotten US Airways Dividend Miles or any other Star Alliance carrier besides UA credit for your DCA to BOS flight, and then you would still keep IAD BOS in UA. This would not help you towards 2P, but it would give you a few extra miles. And also you don't want to run around with a banner saying you collected miles in two programs. It is a glitch that is probably too expensive to fix across the industry for iregular operations reroutes, but it is common in that kind of situation for one to get miles with the original airline as well as miles with the airline on which the pax was rerouted.
Also if your looking for 2P etc. you might consider taking some BOS to IAD mileage runs. There is a T fare (competes with Independence Air) in the BOS to IAD market for $130 incl taxes (use the 5% UA discount found in the UA FAQ thread). The UA IAD T fare has no advance purchase, min stay, etc., and actually it is a one way fare. Finally this mileage run would quallify you for not only 2P but also the Round The World promo. I will probably be doing some of these mileage runs so if you ever want to have brunch or something or meet you can PM me.
Good luck!

Today when i called to get my online booking bonus - which i did, the US flight dis-appeared. So they had credited it - but then took it away.
Oh well ... guess there system was broken.
