FT Rocks!!
Gentlepeople,
If there's another forum on here for general thankful diatribes, I appologize in advance. I just wanted to write a quick note and say out loud that FT has turned into an unbelievable resource. I'm sorry I didn't start reading it before I left the airlines. Perhaps I could've learned something to make life easier for one more Customer!
In any event, thanks to everyone for their advice and insight regarding my mundane gee-whiz questions about UA. It's helped to make my transition from airline to a career that makes me use airlines a LOT so much easier. And....truth be told, it helps knowing how the game is played from my airline perspective too!
If anyone needs any "inside" info, let me know. I've got 4 years of airport management experience, so perhaps I learned something that can help others even it was all at AA. Although I have to admit that it's been strange flying UA so much when I spent over 10 years at AA!
Regards,

I would like to add my thanks to the community as well. All the advice on bonus offers, upgrades, and dealing with United and MP have been invaluable to me and my wife.
I have festooned my suitcases and carry-on baggage with FlyerTalk baggage tags, and even though I haven't run into any other FTers, that day-glo yellow does make my bags much easier to spot on the carousel!

Totally agree with everyone. Would have never made 1K without all this good advice. I used to think that a "double connection" was so "naughty".

You're Welcome, All of You!
I figured out everything on my own. Taught Premex and Rudi and SkiAdcock and Chix and Punki and every participant everything they know (no, really, I did). And while I find that I have no more to give, what do I do? I give more! I amaze me!
Again, you're welcome.

(This is completely tongue-in-cheek; I've learned everything I know at the laps of the older-timers here at FT, and I'm becoming one myself - NOT proud.) Thanks for the thanks about the great community we have here, astrojets, and your graciousness for bringing it up. Good reminder. Lordy I hate being nice...but I do mean that one.

Thanks to this great community, we are getting much more bang for our travel bucks, and United Airlines is receiving both a larger proportion (100%) and a larger net amount of the aforementioned travel bucks.
We have never flown more than 15-20K in a year, and are on track for 35-40K this year.
Win-win situation, the finest kind. FlyerTalk has my heartfelt gratitude. ^
