Mileage Plus Award Ticket - Waitlist Process
Can you tell me the process for waitlisting a saver award on United? When I called Mileage Plus they indicated that I had to book a award ticket on the same or different day and then they could waitlist me for the flight I want. Is this correct or is there another process?

Yes, you have to have a confirmed flight before they can waitlist you for another one.

I booked a economy standard ticket and then requested that I be waitlisted for a First Class Saver award. However, the waitlist expired and when I called, the agent said the waitlist hold is only valid for a maximum of 3 days. Is this correct? Is there any way to waitlist a saver award other than checking the site each day?
