$0 for E+??

Flying TATL on a BD award ticket in J with onward domestic in Y. Seat selection asked if wanted E+, but no price given; I tried selecting 2 E+ seats and it then took me to a page wanting payment but no $ amount given! Would it have charged me $0? Is E+ a perk of flying J TATL?

Is this a J/C award with the domestic segment on a 1 cabin plane (and thus no J/C to book into)?

So I called UA and they said I'd have to pay for E+, but they would get F if it becomes available, but I'd have to keep calling back as no automation as one AC segment in it. Sounds odd to me all round. Not sure I believe them, ... will have to see ...

No; I'm on a regular paid ticket for same routing and I upgraded and got J TATL and F domestic; seat plan shows F, E+, E.

This is one of those things. You are entitled to an F seat if one opens up, but not free E+ unless you have elite status with United (or CO). Star Alliance gold doesn't count for free E+.

And IIRC, E+ is a non-refundable charge, so if you pay for it, and then your F seat opens up, no refund.

I don't believe there are any one-cabin UA/UAX planes that also have E+.

Fwiw, does it matter that according to the OP's profile, they are a 1k? I know it's a partner award but still, wondering if it would it help.

There's something wrong with that (not in the accuracy of response, but that if you've got a "paid" (award) J ticket that you don't at least get upgraded to E+.

I think someone said some seats (1A, exit row) on the one-cabin ERJs are or are becoming E+. Or maybe they're just ELR.

Sure, I didn't see that. 1K is entitled to free E+. If the MP number is in there, it should be doable, or he can get it added.

Maybe the 1K number has not been added to the ITIN as the latter was issued on BD miles? Definitely no charge for E+ if you are traveling as a 1K.
