United EQM's for Cancelled Lufthansa Flight
My scheduled Lufthansa flight today was cancelled and they accommodated me on a non-Star Alliance airline due to limited LH availability. The original itinerary included my Untied Mileage Plus number for crediting. While I was happy to be reaccomodated, I was counting on the EQM's for this year to reach 1K status (I am currently a 1K). Has anyone had any luck in obtain EQM's or miles on United for such a situation? If so, who should I contact to obtain them, United or Lufthansa?

You should call Mileage Plus and use the magic words "original routing credit".

Simply call the 1K desk and ask for Original Routing Credit. Incidentally, the easiest time to do this is at the time you were acommodated. The agent can make that happen as part of the process. But, not to worry, it's pretty painless.

FYI, when I called to do the same this week, I was told that I had to wait 72 hours before requesting. I was after this, so OK. YMMV
