Priority for standby?

Is there a list somewhere (I checked the FAQ) of what the definitive standby priority is? In particular, where does an A fare show up? I would think it would be pretty high, but I have a friend whose flight is very delayed, and will likely be cancelled, so is trying to get on another flight and the gate agent said her priority wouldn't be very high because it was "(mumble) frequency flyer (mumble)" ...

Sure as anything, she just dropped from 17 to 18 on the board ...

An A class fare is a first class fare, no? Am I looking at this wrong?

Thanks.
