Best 2 Class First Class

What first class is best: A320, 757, 767-2 Class?
I'm more interested in best regarding comfort and features, not upgrade chances.

I generally would choose the A320 or B757 over the A319, B767, and B777 domestic 2 configurations.

Difference is small, IMO.

B777 2 Cabin is my 1st choice.

I actually prefer the 2 cabin 777 1st row...ample leg room, nice BIG overhead bins, much nicer interior than the "Ghetto Bird" 2 cabin B763.

Yes, I can see that. I find service more personal on the smaller planes but nothing wrong with the 777.

IMO, it's easier to say which is the worst, which is the 767 domestic and its narrow seats. The others are all pretty much the same to me, athough the old, worn-out CRT monitors on the 757s and limited amount of audio channels also gets some negative points.

I'd probably go:

777
320/319
757
767

2nd row of A319 -- the 2-class F seat is roughly the same across the fleet, so if given the choice, I like the small cabin in the A319. Of course I rarely book A319s as I am much more interested in upgrade chances...

and I hate to point out, but the biggest difference between economy and FC is on a regional jet.....so I actually appreciate FC on the regional as much as on the bigger planes--but of course I agree with previous posters in general...not so much difference, but I like 777 and 757, then 320, and 767 and 737 least. Rarely does any of this make enough difference to cause me to change my schedule to choose one over the other.

Out of the narrow body fleet, the 757 is my favorite by far. The fact that UA's 752's board from 2L is the main reason. You can make a late arrival, and while there may be a wait on the jet bridge, you can immediately turn left and settle in. Nobody is constantly banging your elbows or staring at you while you enjoy your predeparture beverage. Oh, and it's a much easier upgrade Obviously 2-class widebodies is an easy pick, 777.

Exactly. Well, almost exactly. I'll put the 319 slightly ahead of the 320; Generally a little better service and row 2 is great. I always like the last row of F, and on the 319, it's only 1 row back!

The 757 isn't bad, but it's such a huge cabin, and sitting in the back, it can be 30-40 minutes getting my meal after row 1 does. Not to mention the old CRT monitors, and those seats just feel more cramped than the Airbus Twins.

I agree...not only does the interior look VERY old and worn out....I HATE those "equipment" boxes underneath all seats!

I have long legs and I have to be a bit "sideways to stretch out....

I don't think you can compare planes without taking specific seats -- and individual tastes -- into account.

For example, in general I would agree with FlyinHawaiian's ranking (i.e., 777 > 320/319 > 757 > 767), but I think 767 bulkhead seats beat everything except the 777's. They feel a lot roomier to be because no one is reclining into your personal space, more than making up for the loss of a few inches of leg room. Moreover, on a redeye, center seats on a 777 or 767 are vastly preferable to anything the narrowbodies have to offer. And let's not forget that 1CD on the 757 are pretty much the worst F seats in the UA fleet.

All of the above, of course, might be different for someone 6'6" than for myself at 5'10". Or if you're traveling with a companion. Or if you want a window seat for the view.

I'm just saying it all kind of depends.

What my 7 year old daughter thinks of B763 First Class

Funny story: returning from BKK via NRT to ORD in 747 and entire family upstairs in new config, fold flat bus. class...(all award mind you)...anyway, we get through customs/immigration and run to our plane, 763 "Ghetto Bird"...as we approach gate, the agents yell out Tokyo's here and we are the last to board and quickly settle in to our 1st class 763 seats (2 class)...my 7 year old daughter blurts out loudly..."Dad, I thought you said we were in First Class!" It was obvious we'd just come off an international flight and the whole cabin started laughing...for me that sums up First Class in a 763 (2 class)...avoid 'em like the plague...

on another note, my kids are going to have an eye-opener when they leave home and learn what E- is all about...
