FRA-SFO: LH A380 from May 2011
From the LH forum.
Here the schedules where LH is introduce newest A380 service.
LH 455 SFO-FRA 1420-1005
LH 454 FRA-SFO 935-1155
The A380 will inauguration goes on effective May 10, 2011.
I'm curious to see how UA will respond (price/schedules) etc .... or maybe they won't

And HOW would they respond? They use their two largest Jets (747 and 777).

They already have 2 Daily flights with Big Planes so I doubt they'll run an extra. My guess is Economy Customers will rather fly LH and Premium Travel (C) goes to the UA 747 and First to LH?

And I'm sure they will continue to do so. I expect zero impact.
More likely it will break on country lines, as I suspect it does for the most part already. Americans will tend to fly UA, and Europeans will tend to fly LH.

If anything they'll cut a flight as demand softens. Because of the ATI they share the cash anyways so if the two can accommodate all their passengers with only two flights instead of three then that's an extra airframe that can go somewhere else. Adding hundreds of extra seats in response to a revenue-sharing partner adding hundreds of seats would be a rather strange financial decision to make.

Glad to hear the news ^
I was able to redeem some miles for an F ticket to FRA. Currently going in December, but will switch once more availability opens up.

You better change it before the system lists it as an A380, because LH doesn't release award space on the A380 in F. @:-)

The switch from a 744 to a 380 happened on the FRA-NRT market, and those holding confirmed F space were grandfathered in once the aircraft swap occurred, FWIW.

Should my ticket automatically switch to the A380? I'm also confirmed in O for both flights.
