Personally, I think there was barely one this year. The first elite choice tier being at 125k EQM's for 1K's, along with the rewards, I found semi-ridiculus.

Sure, I took them up on it, but it didn't act as a motivator at all for me.

Further, based on my forseeable travel for 2010, I will land at around 173K EQMS for the year. I could very easily do a short MR with some of the e-certs I'm sitting on to get over 175k, but there is near zero motivation for me to do that with the current elite choice program.

But, hey, maybe that's just me...

Was it also 120EQS? I passed that and still have not seen anything for about a month now.

Surmise we will find out in early 2011. That said, since they change the status requirements for 2011 would expect whatever they do to be less favorable than in the past year or 2.

It was 125K EQM or 125 EQS.

Didn't it come out in 2010 last year though? Or was that just some FTers snooping around and finding out the link early...

Gotcha, thanks! Hit that last week. I wonder how long it takes them to get the e-mail out.

I never got an email. I just went to the website a couple of weeks after passing 75k and selected a reward.

Anyhow I did get an email, and i picked my 25k in miles. I think the next award is at 200k and i will not hit that.

What I think would be interesting if there is an Elite Choice Program is to do it based not only on achieving certain mileage levels, but also do it based on how quickly you get there.

For example, if you make it to 1P EQM level (50K) by April 1, you get 2 CR-1s regardless of your currently MP status (1Ks, 1Ps, 2Ps, GS ... all are able to get this award). If you make it to 75K EQM level by June 1, you get money off your next flight or Red Carpet Club membership.

I've not really thought about this thoroughly, just something that popped in my head to give it some thought.

It was found early in both 2009 & 2010 programs -- but not "formally" announced until later. Perhaps UA is being more careful about posting on the public internet before announcing.

The threshold levels are the same for domestic or international members
125K & 175K for 1Ks

The awards are the same except domestic members can enter a sweepstakes

Yes. You will earn 2 CR-1s for every 25,000 EQMs you fly starting at 75,000 EQMs.

Oh... Wait... I've heard that one somewhere else...

In all seriousness, I think that the new CR-1 earning scheme might just end up replacing elite choice for 1Ks.

Somewhat exists this year with the 250k EQM bonus.

Who cares if there is an elite plus program next year? It's been gutted so much it's virtually meaningless, as others above have already also pointed out.
