E-certs and SWU/CRs
I am trying to burn my SWUs on some domestic US travel in combination with E-certs. When I try to book it on the .bomb it will only let me choose one option.
Sorry, if this was asked before, can upgrades ( regional or SWUs ) not be used with E-certs?

For DIY, first, make sure that there is NC or NF inventory for upgrade on the flight you are going to book; then book with your e-cert; then come back online or call 1k desk to apply your SWU or CR-1.

Or call 1K desk to take care of them all at once.

They can but the flight search can not handle both options at the same time.

First find the flights you want and then purchase the flight with e-cert but without upgrade option -- then upgrade.

For domestic travel, you only need to select the lowest fare (K or above) and purchase with e-cert.
After you ticket is issued, you can apply the upgrade with your CR1/SWU.
If there is no NC/NF space open, .bomb won't show the CR1/SWU as a selection and you need to call 1K desk to apply it for you.

never have had this issue.
Believe the true cause of the missing CR1/SWU selection problem is due to lack sufficient number of upgrade instruments for entire itinerary including all on same PNR.

I always have this problem especially when I try to use CR1 to do sponsor upgrade.
If there is no NF/NC space, even I have 8 CR1s, I can't find the selection on .bomb.
I have this issue many times and I was told so by web support.
It is annoying....

some agents make up excuses when they don't know what is happening, multiple threads on this problem
