I just noticed on my account today that I have been granted GS status. There's a new line on the MP website that says 'Full Fare Miles' with a value of 40,356. I had three C fares to Brazil which drove a lot of that.

I don't know if I just didn't notice this before or not, but I see that you can expand the EQM's and it gives you the breakdown now:
Status miles (EQM) 152,326
86,913 Flight with United® and United Express®
21,136 Flight with airline partners
44,277 Bonus for promotions and booking codes

Qualified for Global Services
Made 1k for the first time last year.
Today, I learned that I am Global Services.
Here are my stats for this year:
100,762 Status miles (EQM)
69.5 Status segments (EQS)
34,096 Full-fare miles
Fired up now. Flyertalk has been a tremendous help getting there.

GS Notification Yesterday
Approx stats:
225k eqm
90% of that in ff intl biz
~$85k -90k total *a across ua, co, mostly with some SA, SQ and a few VS
~$50k co/UA spend
Then, I just logged into CO and found Pres Plat...that wasn't there yesterday. I would have thought I reached PPlat much earlier. I was only $5k away when co stopped putting in statements how much more I needed to spend. That was several months ago.
Anyway, I guess it happened. Just waiting for the letter at this point. Who knows?

A recent wave of new GS granted - at this late stage of the year it would be a PR nightmare to grant status only to take it away a month or so later. Not an implausible blunder, but one I'm sure that UA is cognizant of.
Going into this process UA/CO had several years of data on which to judge appropriate threshold spend that would hit their targeted PPE/GS allocation at years end. In my humble opinion if you received the invite for 2011, then it would be quite unlikely to lose it for 2012. That is also an approach consistent with qualification methodology in all airline loyalty programs.
Given the opaque nature of the program what is less certain is those that entered the year with the GS/PPE status. It is here that I would expect some fallout.

Sigh...over 80,000 FF miles this year (mostly B, some C/D, a couple F), but too many of those were in supposed "metal agnostic" joint venture areas. Still, this was all June til now, so if pattern keeps up for next year all year, should be enough UA to knock it over!

Well now I am curious. I have done all my flying on CO this year. At this point I have about 110k in EQM's with most in First class. I don't see anything on my continental account page. Given the information above when will dedicated CO passengers find out if the made GS in 2012?

1) you did all full F fares
2) you flew all of this in the last 2-3 months (GS looks for high bookings in a short time period)
3) you are the luckiest b$stard in the world
Or probably a combination of the 3?

I hate to question anyones integrity but I find it hard to believe I would fly 70k FF miles, $45k spend, all domestic (A), the majority of which in the past 5 months, and not get an invite if someone with those stats got one....which I most definitely have not.
