C+/E+ on extended range 777s
Yes, believe it or not, there are finally a few of the long range 777s flying with C+/E+. Look for nose numbers 29xx or 26xx (although those that are already reconfigured are 29xx). Nose numbers 27xx/28xx will become obsolete with the reconfiguration (28xx becomes 26xx, 27xx becomes 29xx). Sorry, I don't know the tail numbers of these aircraft. Also, I don't know how long it is actually going to take but I've heard rumours the project will be completed by springtime.

That's great news!
Anyone been on a 777ER "C" config lately? I'm curious what routes you find them on. I've yet to see one myself. Mostly "B"'s with the rare "A".

Are these changes occuring in conjunction with a D check? Seems these birds are now getting to be about 5-8 years old, wouldn't it be time?

I am doing SFO-LHR MR today (#930) and coming back tomorrow (#955) - I will report back what I see in business. Although I am in the mini-cabin both times - hmmm. Fingers crossed.

I've read where all of the 777's will now be complete with E+/C+ by May 2004.
The 27XX aircraft are being completed first (to become 29XX) and the 28XX aircraft will follow (becoming 26XX).

Also, the mini-businss cabin on the 28XX aircraft (this is the configuration with the lower-lobe crew rest for the Flight Attendants and the 1 First Class lavatory forward of the row 1E/F pod seats) will have only 10 seats - basically 8AB and 8HJ will disappear to make way for the improved pitch. Closets will be relocated to the space formerly occupied by 8AB/8HJ.

Thank you for providing this helpful info!
I'm quite curious: If row 8DEF and 9DEF will stay in tact, how will they become C+? Did you mean that the Storage closet behind 9DEF will get merged into the closets that will replace 8AB and 8GH? Otherwise it seems like the side seats will benefit but the center seats won't have the increased pitch or recline?
Just curious. The extra legroom is really nice but the increased recline is what makes me sleep more.

So what if you're holding 8AB for a flight (as I am) Should I change it?
Thanks

I was on SFO-LHR on 12/7 that had C+. I have the reg number in the hotel (I'll post it later), but I did not see the nose number, as hard as I tried. It was just too cool to have C+ when I didn't expect it at all.

Bump.
Any more news on the C+/E+ improvements on the 777ER?
I am scheduled to fly JFK-NRT in March in C, and I'm curious whether to expect an updated plane. I'm currently in 9H. It seems that this is a good seat in the pre-update version (according to Seatguru). From the news about row 8 being removed on the two side sections, it seems that this would be a good seat regardless of whether the reconfig had occured on the particular plane that I get.
I would really appreciate any comments people can make about C seats in this plane--in addition to any more news about the reconfig.
Thanks!
