UA code share on US question

I have a question that I have not been able to find an answer to on the UA website. I recently took a UA code share flight on US metal. Even though the ticket I purchased was a UA flight number, when my miles posted they did so with a US flight number. Does this mean that the miles earned flying on a UA flight number that is a code share on US will not count towards earning my 500 mile upgrades on UA? Is this correct?

Right. US metal flights won't count towards your earning HK49s, or 500-milers. However, they will count towards status and you still get elite bonuses.

When once you have experienced being a 1K, you will forever fly the friendly skies with your eyes set on 100% mileage bonus and SWUs, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return, every year!
