Off Topic: Update
I appreciate the overwhelming support I have gotten from the customers and fellow employees posting on this board. I have learned a lesson, but I am afraid it was too little, too late. After a month-long battle, I have been oficially terminated from United.
Secondly, I offer this warning to ALL United employees: watch yourself. NEVER post on this site without a FULL DISCLAIMER on every post. Part of United's computer security policy is that you can post, but NEVER on a company PC (despite the fact you may have outside web access) and never say "we" or "us", etc. Always use "I" and "me", etc. An example of an appropriate disclaimer is as follows:
"The views expressed in this message do not always represent the views of United Airlines, UAL Corp, or any United subsidiary or business/marketing partner"
That being said, is anybody willing to hire a former UAL employee, who has just graduated from broadcasting school? I need a job :-(

I'm really sorry to hear this. It seems to me that United has overreacted.

Does this mean you can give expert opinions without any form of disclaimer now that you aren't an employee of UAL? Any juicy gossip, rumours, or anything else of interest you want to get off your chest??
Joking aside, I'm truly sorry you lost your job because you wanted to help people on this board. I assure you that I appreciated your comments and advice. Too bad there aren't more employees like you..

It's now time to use your broadcasting qualifications to develop a career, or time for you to head to law school. - Since you seem to have such a great interest in legal matters, and helping people.
I don't know you, but all this eagerness to learn and print legal jargon suggests you'd make a great lawyer. The pay is not bad, certainly worth a few years of study.

Aaron, sorry, buddy. I think that they way overreacted but these days, when they are looking to shed employees, I think they're looking for any excuse to fire someone.
Good luck with everything and hope we hear you on the radio or TV someday. Have you started doing anything with that?

I'm really sorry to hear about this, and wish that there was something that could be done to get the decision reversed.
This does more to to tarnish my impression of UA than any act of bad customer service I've heard about. There is no word that comes to mind to describe those responsible for terminating your employment that can be posted here, and still stay within the Flyertalk terms and conditions.
Good luck.

I have a question for the board...
Are there any labor lawyers out there? I am hoping I might be able to consult with one, who might be willing to take the case, as it may be, pro bono. I feel I was railroaded out, especially since my Union officer has said that there *IS* precedence where reservations employees have made more serious erros, yet been able to retain their jobs. (not to mention Drunk pilots, anyone?)
If somebody is up to the task, I would greatly appreciate it.
Lastly, in respects to my broadcasting schooling, I am finished with classes, and I officially graduate 06 December. I am browsing job postings, but without funds, I have very little savings to move to a small market arena to start, and an unpaid internship is not possible. I'm looking, and hoping...

DTW1KR,
I am sorry to hear that United has terminated your employment, especially considering the fact that you made efforts to help customers. I wish you the best of luck. Were you posting from company PC at work, or were you posting form your home PC?
