Fly this weekend and save up to 10,000 miles
The link is here.
Reads in part:
Some of the deals are not bad, including IAD-SAN for 17,000.
True, the timeframe is limited, but if you were going to go anyway, it's not shabby at all. ^

Sometimes it's not "if you were going to go anyway", its "where should I go now?"

No kidding. Some of their routes have been so overpriced lately that I'm not surprised by them selling last minute awards for a reduction. I would consider taking an ORD-PDX for 17k if I didn't already have flights planned this weekend.

Weekend Reduced Mileage Awards (e-fares with miles)
[whoops, new search found existing thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unite...000-miles.html. Mods, please combine.]
Hub cities to CONUS destinations this weekend for 15,000 or 17,000 miles. 15,000 is generally short-haul, but also some like ORD-PVD or LAX-ASE (!); for 17,000 you can go SFO-PIT, DEN-CHS, ORD-PDX, or IAD-AUS.

T&Cs: http://www.united.com/page/article/1,,53379,00.html
Perhaps further evidence of creeping Continentalization, of course, since CO has done this with their e-fares for years:

Would it have killed them to put the cities in alphabetical order?
