PremEx comp?

Is there any chance of getting comped PremEx based on current flying volume?

I'm currently a Premier with about 22k miles for this year, and two ORD-EDI round trips coming up this month. The catch is that most of these flights have been *A flights. (SK, BD), with only one ORD-SFO on UA metal.

Does the pay $25 for the possibility of getting status pretty much eliminate the possibility of getting comped early? Or would I still have a chance?

UA offers a "once in a lifetime" comp whereby if you fly 25k in x amount of time (I forget what the length was) they will comp the PremEx status. Don't know if they will be willing to do this for non-UA metal flights.
