I just completed a few segments of my first PassPlus booking and I got the base miles + 100% elite (1K) bonus. But that was it. I didn't get the 50% bonus.
It varies widely from a day or two to over a week. Don't worry about it though, I've never had them NOT post.

It's no surprise a no changes, non refundable, advance purchase required Z fare is cheaper than PassPlus J.

You were right, my bonus just posted. It took a few days, but sure enough it was all there.

It shows up as a stand alone line called "bonus for promotion" rather than "bonus for booking code".

PassPlus would be something to consider in the near future if they didn't have that idiotic restriction on using instrument supported upgrades. I wonder if that is negotiable? Either way, its a pretty chicken dung way of dealing with people who are giving you a ton of guaranteed revenue.

PassPlus is fully flexible. Z is anything but. Pulling up a full J fare on ITA on SFO-LHR-SFO (you can get it a little cheaper by connecting) gives you a total of $13665.30.

Huge difference.

Does anybody know the number to call to get my UATP password reset?

The user id / password that they sent me when my account was created has never worked.

Thanks!

Already e-mailed them twice and never heard back from them. Wonderful, ain't it?

The PassPlus reservation agent gave me a phone number in Chicago to call for support, but it didn't work when I tried it. I think that it was my mistake though as I may have crossed two numbers or something like that.

I'll call PP Reservations again today I guess.

You should eventually hear back from someone called Megan. She is great. I think the PassPlus folks are really overworked. For a while they had outsourced support to the Philipines, which wasn't working well.

PERKS PLUS a good deal?

Sorry to resurrect this old PERKS PLUS thread, but i'm curious to know more about whether PERKS PLUS is a good deal or not - and if its a good way to 'double dip' for more rewards.... anyone know how much it costs upfront?

http://www.perkspluspartners.com/

thanks. feel free to reassign to a different PERKS PLUS thread if you know a better one mods.

PerksPlus does not cost anything, however to be eligible you must have a FEIN (Federal Taxpayer ID) for a corporation or other eligible entity - United/Lufthansa does not offer this program for individuals. Also, you must indicate a certain level of annual revenue on the application ($25/year I believe) or you will be rejected - AND - to redeem your credits you must generate at least $5000 of revenue in a 3-month period during the "prior 12 months" - which I think means your revenue must stay above this point to keep eligible, otherwise your points expire, and possibly your membership in the program may be terminated.

One additional kink, if you book online you can have your PerksPlus code added ONLY through united.com, all other forms of reservation, including the ICC and reservations phones may or may not be able to add the code to the ticket (depends on agent apparently). If you have a ticket to which the code was not applied, you can request a credit once per quarter by auditing your tickets, matching up the 016xxxxxxxxx numbers with your own records and sending an XLS file to PerksPlus. So there is some effort required on your part to ensure you get credit.

Thanks for all of the info, I'm seriously considering this for travel that is likely to pick up considerably in the next year.

Only thing, I hate to say it, is upgrade ineligibility on international. I guess my economics professor was right.... No such thing as a free lunch!

There is free lunch - just at McDonald's, not upscale French restaurant.

I do agree that inability to use upgrades internationally sucks - but the program is great for people that fly C/J int'l last minute - you can pretty much get a ticket for half the price of J/C regular unrestricted fare. What I don't understand is why are people that regularly fly C/J internationally are NOT using Passplus.

Maybe it depends on your routing, but the two routes I fly a lot ORD-NRT and NRT-BKK are $9,000 and $4800 for PassPlus Secure. Same price as D (7 day advance purchase) and double the price of a Z, and only a 20% discount from full C. If there were some real discounts, it would be worth doing, but to pay the same price or higher and not have access to upgrades makes no sense. Does it work better for other routes?
