Poll: Will the SWU changes increase or decrease your UA 2003 spending?

Will the new SWU changes be more likely to increase or decrease the amount of money you will give UA in 2003?

Please indicate your status and place your vote.

My status is:

A = UA 1K
B = UA 1P
C = UA 2P
D = No UA status

Choices:

A = More likely to Increase overall spending
B = More likely to Decrease overall spending
C = No effect on spending

Thank you for that assistance, venk.

Spending=B. This is what I put in my email to UAL. There is no longer a reason for me to give them a few extra thousand dollars to get me from 1P to 1K.

There was never tangible reason to continue to give business to United past 100K other than loyalty (which they earned and which I honored) and to continue to enjoy 1K travel benefits with United the airline.

Now with the new SWU rules and if they don't change back, I will likely give my second 100K and related $$$ to American Airlines (after having been comped status over there, if I do so), and still end up with 6 limted SWUs at United and 8 unlimited SWUs with American.

This is something I could easily have done this year, and enjoyed top status and more Systemwides at both! But I remained loyal to United.

And the worst part of this possible scenerio? If I like American enough, they may get all my business in 2004.

(There is no real added incentive to go beyond PE with UA. The extra 100K {beyond PE} that I had planned on giving UA this year will go elsewhere... just don't know where - as of today).

What I have booked so far will make me a 1P, but after that I plan to burn miles.

Will need to decide whether travel after AA EXP will go to LH or UA for * Gold. That depends on whether UA is still alive by then.

To be fair, you need to provide a choice

C = likely to spend the same

On a side note, I'll spend most of my miles this year as well.
