LAX Question
Anybody know what the United domestic terminal looks like early Monday morning?
I have a 7am flight .... just wondering what to expect in terms of waiting times for airport security, traffic around LAX, etc.
I know the <405> will - as always - be a parking lot.

take the 105 to the sepulveda offramp - bypass the 405 altogether if you can.

I haven't had any problems with security at LAX in recent months. There is the check-point between terminals 7 and 8 that always seems to be lightly used, but you have to find the slightly hidden escalator up to it. I am flying at 7AM to IAD this Friday and will post security times here Friday night. I am only doing a carry-on so I won't have the checked luggage experience, but I will try and notice if there are any significant lines.

Everything for the 7AM flight on Friday went smoothly. I took the 5:15 Fly-Away bus from Van Nuys which arrived at terminal 7 at 5:50. The bus was about 60% full but most passengers only had carry-on luggage. The 405 is mostly clear that early in the morning, especially with "Friday Morning Light" I went to the e-service machines (no line and about 25% in use) and had my boarding passes in about a minute. Went up to security and was through and on my way to the gate at 6:05. Passengers with checked luggage were bringing their bags throught the mammouth x-ray machines, but I didn't get the feeling that there was any great delay in the process. I hope this helps.

I went on UA at LAX on 1/20. Arrived at terminal at 7AM for 8AM departure. Tried to use Automated machine for boarding pass. It kept bouncing me and said go to counter. I went to the counter, waited in Biz/Prem. line because it was a lot shorter than 1st class line. Took 10 minutes to get boarding passes. My favorite checkpoint is opposite the escalator mentioned in Cardfan's post. It does not have an escalator , just stairs and some days the TSA people are huffy about allowing people through that checkpoint with roller bags but no problem last Monday. Got to gate at 7:20 and flight began boarding at 7:30
It was MLK day but terminal seemed as busy as the week before when it wasn't a holiday. If I was checking luggage I would have arrived earlier.
