Which booking class is E+ ?
As topic says, which booking class(es) are the E+ seats?
I am going JFK-LAX-HNL-SFO-IAD with UA and I would like to get the E+ seats. Since it's booked through a travel agent and SAS I can't seem to be able to pre-purchase the E+ seats (is this correct?) and I am therefore checking seat availability and hoping to purchase it at check-in.
However, I am not sure about the booking class of E+. E.g. the JFK-LAX has this availability:
[KVS Availability Tool 5.1.7/Platinum - WSpan: Availability/ITN/US-WOT]
Lots of seats available, I know, but which are the E+?
Thanks in advance
P.S. I searched and searched, but the terms economy plus booking class are much much too common terms to get any good hits, so pardon if this was already covered

Economy Plus is not a separate booking class. Any Economy booking class (the ones from Y onwards) are also Economy Plus. You don't automatically receive Economy Plus based on your booking class... it's based either on your elite status or on whether you paid for it separately.
I can't be sure but you should be able to call United to buy up to E+ seats... though I'm just guessing on that. You can also call them to check availability.

E+ does not correspond to a particular booking class, but in this case you're looking at a ps flight, which has only E+ in the main cabin. Anything that's not J or F on that plane will be E+.

There's no specific booking class for E+. UA elites (1K, 1P, 2P, 3P) get E+ seating automatically - others either have to purchase an annual E+ "subscription," pay for E+ at booking or check-in, or get lucky in the case where E- if full and the only available seats for assignment (on the day of flight) are in E+.
For JFK-LAX, all economy seats are E+ although the pitch is a little less than is typical on non-ps mainline aircraft.

Oh really, this is great news for this flight then
Thanks for the info on the class. I'll try to give UA a call regarding the other flights. I presume it's only the 757 ps that has E+ for all economy seats?

Correct, the the 757 ps configuration is the only one that's all E+, and it only flies SFO-JFK and LAX-JFK, so unfortunately that's your only (free) E+. :\ (although definitely call and see what your options are [i would think you can buy up at any time?]!)

To the OP:
Not sure if your screen name is your surname. You gave a lot of your flight info in a public place. I would edit out your flights.

Thanks jonk and zrs70 - My screen name is not my surname and I figured I had removed the most vital parts such as booking no. etc, but I removed it nonetheless to be sure, thanks
I don't suppose being *G with SK gives me any advantage in regards to E+ upgrades? Is is possible to be upgraded for miles? (I have miles with CO (no status) also and I know that have some relationship now)

SirRagnar,
I would not wait. Open your trip via www.checkmytrip.com and note the United Airlines # booking nr. Then go to www.united.com access the trip via "My itineraries" and select view travel options. You should be presented with an option to purchase E+ access pr segment from www.United.com.
On my last trip booked on SAS / UA (via a SAS TA) I got this choice on United.com but did not select E+ option as I am already have a E+ Annual option on my United mileage plus membership.
Alternatively call United and they may be able to sell you the upgrade over the phone.
PS! I also got the choice to upgrade to first on UA segments....using a 500-mile upgrade which can be purchased.

Thanks for the tip. I logged in and found my itinerary. However, I don't seem to find the option to upgrade to E+.
Would it be this one, which is 'greyed' out?:
I guess I could make a mileage plus account, but I'm afraid it will add this trip to that card instead of my SK *G.
Edit: Or, I suppose it's the 'Travel Options', but that unfortunately gives me this error: "No travel options available at this time, please check back later."

I would sign up on United mileage plus but remember to get positive feedback during check in that your frequent flyer program of choice is entered and used. I think you also are asked during check-in on a check in machine.
I previously upgraded to first at check desk using 500-mile cert and my United # and still got frequent flyer points directed to my SAS eurobonus without any problems.

Alright, thanks. I'll do that.
Tell me - because I'm not sure I understand - you are not saying that you got upgraded for only 500 miles, are you?
Edit: Nevermind, a bit of googling gave the answer: http://www.flyerguide.com/wiki/index...-500s_%28UA%29

Here's a link to purchase Economy plus as a one time option from United.

Note that you need to pay for each flight.

Update:
Success! I managed to get upgraded. I found out my e-tickets had not been issued, it was only reserved because I only paid yesterday.
Got the e-tickets and then I was able to upgrade all 3 non-E+ UA flights.
I even got the fabled 21J and 21H on the 777 - I hope they're as good as rumor is
Thanks to all for the kind help, it's a pleasure that there is always someone willing to help!
Paid $354 for 3 x 2 upgrades to E+ (SFO-HNL, HNL-SFO and SFO-IAD) which I find a very reasonable price. Now just to see if I can get upgraded to Economy Extra on the SAS flights
