Boarding Pass coding for RCC
Is there some sort of code or symbol on my early checking BP that shows I am a RCC member? I only ask because I finally bit the bullet and purchased a RCC membership and the four times that I have used it now, the receptionaist has taken my BP, looked at it and ushered me in without scanning or typing anything. I have just handed the print out to the receptionist with my ID and get them both back with nary a blink of the eye.
Oh and they have thus far been very polite and offered a nice greeting. ^ FYI, two visits were during VERY busy rush hours and the other two I was the first to enter the clubs in the AM.

They usually take my BP, but often seems they put it on a scan of some kind. I have taken a peek at the screen as I wait in DEN (where you can kinda be next to/behind upon checkin) and usually my name comes up in a green pop up bar. I haven't had time or opportunity to see if any other details come up.
Can't recall them not scanning though? Maybe something new.

Your MP number is also your RCC member number, and should already be on your boarding pass.

could it have been that you were on an int'l trip and in c or f? as a 1k, that gets you access to the rcc and perhaps the agent saw the "big 1k" and didn't bother to do anything else?

These were all domestic flights, and yes there is a big 1K, but there must be many of those who do not have RCC memberships. I was just curious. There was definitely no scanner involved.

Sounds like there may be an opportunity a fun new FT thread for 1K's/GS..and even a few crazy 1P's who want to try to get in on a flash and a prayer... "Master thread: Successful RCC entries when not eligible".

Is it possible that the agents were busy and trying to move things along so they saw you were a 1K and you knew to hand them your ID, so they just figured "this guy knows the drill" and didn't bother to scan it???
What print out are you handing them? If you're handing them the confirmation emails, BP, and ID, then perhaps they're using the email and id as verification. I just got my membership, no card, and of the 7 times I used it over the last week, I handed the agent my BP only, they scanned it and admitted me. If you're handing them the BP only, and they look at it and admit you without scanning, that is just weird.

I feel it would be ridiculously easy to attempt it and then just come off as an uninformed elite who didnt realize his *G status on UA didnt get him in to RCCs if it doesnt work, and thus not garner much suspicion from the desk agents. Not that Im going to, however

I read the OP as "printout" meaning OLCI boarding pass printout, but maybe I'm confused. I think the point the OP was trying to make is that he only showed the RCC agent his boarding pass and ID, and since it was NOT scanned, there would be no way for them to know he was a member.
So I thought I'd clarify by asking OP what printout they're handing them.

I am starting to lean toward this just having been four lucky entries. Two where things were very busy and two maybe before the computers got fired up.

I'm fairly certain they can just key in the MP number. It's only eleven digits after all.

Was it the same receptionist each time? Maybe he/she has the amazing ability to read the bar code and match it to the database... in her head!!!!!???!?!
