Empty C class

Just got off SFO-NRT and it was very empty. 6 people in the lower deck C (1 1K, 2 PEs and 3 non revs), 17 on the upper deck.

It was a great flight and the Obento was excellent!

I've never seen a UA C cabin that empty on an international flight! I even got an empty seat next to me.

Time for a shower in the RCC then SQ lounge.

In case anyone is around NRT reading this, I am in the SQ lounge until 5:10p or so. Drop by if you are around! Nice and quiet here. Great food and champagne too!

All segments confirmed at time of booking back in early July. NRT-SIN cleared in late July.

This explains why earlier this week they announced the cancellation of the 3rd daily SFO-NRT. I forget the effective date but there'll soon be only two dailies SFO-NRT, one in a 747 and the other one in a 777. I guess the slot is being used with a 3rd NRT-Seoul.

My flight on that route on 5 Sep STILL hasn't cleared and the C cabin is pretty wide open.

..Maybe its because C is way too expensive on this route? I can fly SFO-TPE for $2200 R/T in C and then shuttle back and forth to NRT (in Y or C) for roughly 50% less.

In fact, I am getting ready to book a ticket doing just this thing today.

Do you know which one has been cancelled? I'm booked on the 11 am SFO-NRT (744) for the Sunday after Thanksgiving...Thanks!

On the other hand, NRT-SIN was full in C (1 empty seat) and the all Japanese crew was wonderful!

Got into the Silver Kris lounge without a problem. Just needed to show my *G card and I was in!

As for cancelling one of the SFO-NRT flights... seems like UA is still operating 3 flights for the winter (2 747 & 1 777) but it's down to 2 flights a day for Sept 8 - Oct 27.
